Hello friends and neighbors of Pine Valley and the Hells Canyon Jr Rodeo!
I’m here to tell you a little bit about this year’s Grand Marshall, Dave Huff. He’s a hometown boy, born in Pine Valley and raised just up the road from the fairgrounds. He graduated from Halfway High School in 1960. Dave left to serve in the military, doing a tour in Vietnam before finishing his time of service. He returned to Halfway in 1974 with his wife and two daughters. Halfway was, once again, home for the next 32 years. Dave became a fixture at the fairgrounds during those years, doing whatever he could to support, encourage, and participate in whatever was going on. He was pleased to be a part of seeing the arena lights go up. His heart was to see the tradition of rodeo passed on to the younger generation. Dave looks back on those years with fondness.
His heart is still in Pine Valley with its way of life and the folks who live there. Dave thanks you for this honor!
